This high-spec studio features a state-of-the-art electronic eco bidet toilet suite and blends contemporary coastal style with natural textures. Wool carpet, timber floors, and Italian stone tiles create an atmosphere of effortless, barefoot luxury.

This 352m studio accommodation includes:

  • New Zealand made 'Sleepy Head Elegance Latex' king size bed with quality bedding
  • kitchenette with timber countertop, granite stone sink, tea/coffee facility, microwave & dishwasher & a spacious lounge area with dining table
  • roll-in shower with dual shower rain head, a ‘state of the art’ electronic Eco Bidet Toilet with heated seat (weight restriction 130 kilos)
  • Italian stone bathroom tiles with underfloor heating, bespoke native timber vanity, heated LED mirror
  • 100% real NZ wool carpet and real oak timber flooring
  • dining and lounge area with flat screen TV, NZ-made 100% wool-covered lounge chair, occasional rattan chair & footstool 
  • a private north/west-facing deck overlooking the surf out to Wall Island
  • outdoor BBQ provided on request

Rate: from $550 to $650 per night.
Minimum stay is 2 nights.
Maximum of 2 adults.

Accommodation is Not Suitable for children or infants. The minimum age of any guest is 17 years.

 Best we‘ve seen in NZ! We booked at short notice for just one night but spontaneously prolonged. That says all. Sandra and Doc are wonderful hosts and the rooms (we had Villa Nr. 2) are as new and design with so much style and attention to detail! Very clean. Amazing! And of course the view is hard to beat. Also the breakfast was excellent and, like everything, very personal. Worth every penny. The hosts make you feel like part of their family. Thank you!

Affordable luxury with heart  Set on a peninsula looking directly out on the surf break at the epic Tauranga Bay, “The Bayhouse” is effectively a luxury lodge that’s an accessible treat. Better than that, the hosts Doc and Sandra have thought of everything and deliver it with genuine care and interest. If you’re a bit of a finickity chap like me, you’ll appreciate the attention to detail that’s gone in here. From the hardwood floors and bench top, automatic blinds, a bathroom like an oasis and the coup de grace; The Throne Bidet System which really is “the future of toilets” and leaves you wondering how you’ll survive returning home again. The weather was great while we were here. This is a gem and pretty hard to compare with anywhere else I’ve been. Thoroughly recommend and will return.
